According to statistics from the International Tank Container Organization (ITCO), from the perspective of tank container ownership, the global tank container ownership has an average annual compound growth rate of 9.01% from 2012 to 2022. As of January 2023, the global tank container ownership is 801,800 units; from the perspective of tank container operation, the global tank container operation has an average annual compound growth rate of 9.55% from 2012 to 2022. As of January 2023, the global tank container operation has reached 568,800 units.

The tank container industry is characterized by globalization and standardization. In the past 10 years, production capacity has gradually shifted to China, and China has become the world's largest tank container manufacturer. According to the 2023 statistical report of the International Tank Container Organization, more than 50% of the world's tank containers are manufactured by CIMC, ranking first in market share for many consecutive years.
