DNV 2.7-1 containers used in the field of marine research need to meet the following special standards:
Design and structural standards
Strength requirements: Containers must be able to withstand various external forces during marine transportation and marine research field operations, such as wave impact, shaking and bumping during lifting. According to the DNV 2.7-1 standard, its structural design must ensure that it will not be damaged under normal and extreme conditions. For example, the steel of the main structure must meet specific strength grades and toughness requirements and be able to withstand the specified static and dynamic loads.
Corrosion resistance: The marine environment is highly corrosive. Containers usually use corrosion-resistant steel or undergo special anti-corrosion treatments, such as hot-dip galvanizing, spraying high-performance anti-corrosion paint, etc., to extend their service life and prevent structural strength from decreasing due to corrosion.
Sealing performance: Good sealing is the key to preventing the intrusion of seawater, moisture and salt, ensuring that the scientific research equipment and materials in the box are not damp or corroded. The doors, windows, vents and other parts of the container must be equipped with high-quality sealing materials and devices to achieve the specified sealing level.
Insulation and heat insulation performance: If the scientific research equipment has special requirements for temperature, the container may need to have certain insulation and heat insulation performance to maintain a suitable temperature environment in the box. For example, use insulation materials to fill the interlayer of the box, or install a temperature control system.
Equipment and functional standards
Hoisting and handling: Equipped with standard lifting devices, such as lifting ears, lifting rings, etc., and these devices must undergo strict strength testing and certification to ensure safety and reliability during the lifting process. At the same time, the design of the container should be convenient for forklifts, cranes and other equipment to carry out handling and loading and unloading operations.
Electrical system: If scientific research instruments and equipment need to be installed in the box, the electrical system must comply with relevant safety standards, such as having good grounding protection, overload protection, leakage protection and other functions. The wires and cables must be made of seawater-resistant and wear-resistant materials, and there must be a reasonable wiring plan to prevent electrical failures from causing safety accidents.
Ventilation and air exchange: In order to ensure air circulation in the container and prevent the accumulation of harmful gases and excessive humidity, a reasonable ventilation system needs to be designed, such as vents, exhaust fans, etc. The ventilation volume must meet the needs of the equipment and personnel in the container.
Safety facilities: Equipped with necessary safety facilities, such as fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, safety signs, etc. For containers storing dangerous goods, they must also meet the corresponding dangerous goods storage safety standards, such as explosion-proof and anti-static requirements.
Material standards
Material certificates: The materials used in the manufacture of containers, including steel, welding materials, sealing materials, etc., are required to have corresponding material certificates to prove that they meet the requirements of DNV 2.7-1 standards and relevant international and national standards.
Environmental protection requirements: Considering the protection of the marine environment, the materials used should be as environmentally friendly as possible to avoid pollution to the marine ecology. For example, paints and other coatings must meet the requirements of low VOC (volatile organic compounds) emissions.
In addition, DNV 2.7-1 containers must undergo rigorous testing and inspection, including type testing, product testing and periodic inspections, to ensure that they meet all standards and requirements. At the same time, relevant certification marks, specifications, safety precautions and other information should be clearly marked on the container to facilitate user identification and operation.
